It seems that every new business our
Chicago law firm organizes or incorporates, regardless of whether the new business is small or large, the owners have grandiose ideas of building a website that will create significant revenues right out of the gate.
Unfortunately, what many
new business owners don't realize is that in order for a new business' freshly launched website to be noticed by the search engines (i.e.,
GOOGLE), someone must devote a significant amount of time to choosing the most appropriate keywords to target, creating numerous pages with great, relevant content optimized for those selected keywords, link building with highly ranked friendlies inside the industry, and leverage the social media powerhouses, like Facebook and Twitter. Simply launching a website, now matter how expensive and elegant, will not do anything towards helping your business get noticed or drive revenues on the internet. It takes a lot of time, a lot of patience, some money, and A LOT of work to earn respect with the search engines, especially GOOGLE. So take note new business': SEO is not magic, but the algorithms are tricky and sensitive. If an SEO plan is not devised beforehand, or if the SEO plan is not properly implemented, be very cautious of calculating those optimistic internet revenues when developing the new business' initial pro forma projections.
