Illinois Statewide Stay At Home Order
Updated 3-20-20 at 2pm. Illinois Governor is expected to order all residents in Illinois to stay at home beginning Saturday, in the most serious effort yet to combat the spread of the coronavirus in Illinois. Pritzker will issue his “stay-at-home” order for all Illinois residents at a 3 p.m. news conference, according to sources. He is expected to be joined by Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot.
Essential services, such as, grocery stores, hospitals and gas stations are among the businesses that will remain open. Public transportation is expected to remain in service.
Following California, Illinois is the second state to order residents to stay home in response to the global pandemic. The State of New York will likely follow in the next few hours.
